Funk Shui

The Bayou Preservation Association held its 2010 gala, “Funk Shui,” on October 7th outdoors at the contemporary Tanglewood-area home of Brian James on Buffalo Bayou. The event was a huge hit among the diverse crowd of party-goers who came together for an evening of food, fun and festivities with a decidedly Asian flavor. Many of the guests dressed in “Chinois Chic,” while they supped on dim sum from Gigi’s Asian Bistro and Dumpling Bar. They also grooved to the laid back R&B and jazzy sounds of instrumental group McLemore Avenue. Surprise entertainment included traditional Chinese dances by performers with Dance of Asian America. Gala co-chairs of the successful event were Minnette and Peter Boesel, Cindy Bishop, John Gaston, Jamie Mize and Dan Tidwell.
