When in Rome....

Rome Salon and Day Spa, in West Avenue, is officially open. Over the past few months they have already shown their generosity by hosting numerous charity events. The spa is an elegant oasis located in the heart of Kirby. The executive director, Zahira Coll, has international spa management experience, and it shows in every detail of the service and products available. We highly recommend the mani/pedi scrub and massage, while you relax in a specially-made recliner overlooking the treetops that line the complex. Indulge yourself in some pampering!

Pop the Cork!

Have a drawer full of wine corks? Specs has teamed up with the internationally recognized Christus Stehlin Foundation for cancer research, to help you dispose of them. Bring your used corks into one of the Specs Wines, Spirits and Fine Foods locations to recycle them into eco-friendly consumer products, such as trivets or playground materials. Specs will donate 2 cents for every cork collected to the Stehlin Foundation which is celebrating its 30th anniversary. The Friends of the Stehlin Foundation, is hosting a gala on November 3, chaired by Tamara and Harrison Bibb, Becca and Philip Weigand. Adbacadabra, an ABBA tribute band will play. There will also be dinner and a silent auction. So grab your “Honey, Honey” and join the fun, and support cancer research at The CHRISTUS Stehlin Foundation. Individual tickets begin at $300.
