The Blue Box

We all know the little blue box means there’s a luxurious treasure from Tiffany’s inside. Now, the blue box is bigger, because the iconic American store has brought back purses as part of their inventory. The Houston store will carry the Tiffany Reversible Tote, and the other styles will be available to order online. This sophisticated leather bag is silver on one side and Tiffany blue on the other with a silver Tiffany logo on the strap, making it the perfect year round tote for Houston fashionistas. Be the first to purchase an instant classic.

The Galleria

Sister, Can You Spare a dime?

Your spare quarters, dimes, pennies or nickels could change the lives of homeless women throughout Houston. During August and September, Houstonians can drop their spare change in watering cans at various retail locations for The Women’s Home campaign “Have You Heard About Bloom? It’s All About Change.”

The campaign’s kick-off event for BLOOM, The Women’s Home annual fundraising dinner, will be held at Bering Art Collective on Thursday, October 7. At the kick off supporters will be encouraged to bring spare change to contribute to the watering cans collected from participating retailers. All money raised from the “It’s All About Change” campaign will benefit the BLOOM 2010 Annual Fundraising Dinner, on Friday, November 12, at the InterContinental Houston Hotel, which will celebrate the opening of the Jane Cizik Garden Place, a new affordable housing complex for Houston women in need.

For more information on obtaining a watering can or BLOOM ticketing information, contact Marcia Tapp at 713.328.1975 or mtapp@thewomenshome.org.

Houston Restaurant Week

There’s still time to take advantage of the great deals during Houston Restaurant Week.
Diners will enjoy a three or four course gourmet meal, with lunch (new this year) for $20,
and dinner for $35. Participating restaurants will donate $4 from the lunch meals,
and $5 from the dinner meals to the Houston Food Bank.

What a great way to try a new bistro, or visit a fav, while helping to fit hunger.
