Food for Thought...

Fund for Teachers is having their Food for Thought luncheon on Friday,
October 8,2010, at Hotel ZaZa, chaired by Danielle Ellis. The keynote speaker
will be the best selling author of the Wicked series, Gregory Maguire.
This year’s honoree is Houston treasure, Dr. Kelli Cohen Fein.

Fund for Teachers, based in Houston, is a unique donor supported organization dedicated to rewarding and retaining America’s top teachers by funding professional development opportunities the teachers design and experience over the summer break. Each year they award teachers grants in late Spring to allow these teachers to spend their summer enriching their knowledge. They return to the classroom in the fall with new passion, new knowledge, and new ideas to inspire and challenge students. Fund for Teachers has awarded more than $12 million in grants to approximately 3,500 of America’s top educators over the past nine years in Houston, and around the country.

Tickets start at $125 and for information call or email Meghan Knox at 713-296-6141 or Meghan.knox@fundforteachers.org.

Jean Imposters

Our friends at Cosabella have come up with leggings that look like denim by using different colored fibers and printing a jeans image on the tights. WOW, this material is lightweight and stretchy making it super comfy while giving the look of denim. The leggins are great for travel; they pack easily and drip dry quickly.

Available at Neiman’s. Prices range from $68 -- $80.
