Pink Ribbon Yoga
Our friends at Balance Your Body Yoga, Amy Garratt and Julie Byrd, have developed a recuperative yoga program to help breast cancer survivors restore physical and mental balance to their lives. The certified yoga trainers are currently offering a series of free Friday classes for any breast cancer survivor interested in including yoga as part of her rehabilitation. Research shows that yoga can reduce hot flashes, joint pain, fatigue, sleep disturbances and anxiety in cancer patients. The recuperative yoga program will also be used as a clinical trial to document participants’ progress. Classes are from 4:15 – 5:15 p.m. at City Dance Studio in Rice Village, 5411 Morningside.
A training program for individuals to become certified Pink Ribbon Recuperative Yoga specialists will be also offered July 30- 31.
For more information and to register for the classes, call 281-206-4292 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. For info on the training classes go to www.pinkribbonrecuperativeyoga.com.
This Spring, Masraff's packed its pots and pans and moved down the street to Post Oak Blvd. (just south of San Felipe). The traditional decor was left behind and replaced with contemporary furnishings, giving the new location the feel of an upscale Manhattan restaurant. The bar is now a hot spot for Houston's casual chic crowd making nightly rounds. Expect the same outstanding food and beverage. We especially love the Chilean sea bass; it's just as good after the move.
