A new cupcakery has opened in Rice Village. Here's the scoop--Celebrity Cupcakes are moist and delicious, not too sweet, and not too enormous; so you don't feel a sugar cloud after you enjoy a little treat. We especially like the coconut variety, and we weren't even coconut fans before we sampled the celebrity version. Oscar worthy, indeed!
The location is a little tricky to find (on the south side of University, east of Morningside),
but persevere, it's worth the hunt.

I Left My Heart in River Oaks
Hearts created by several local artists, in a multitude of colors and designs, will line the walk along Westheimer, this May and June in an effort to draw attention to heart health. Organized by Grayco Partners and the American Heart Association, the public art project will be unveiled at The Belle Meade at River Oaks on Tuesday, May 25 at 6 pm. Local celebrities and philanthropists passionate about the cause will present each original piece to their respective Heart Deco sponsor. The exhibit, featuring Heart Deco by local artists Quinton Alberto, Kermit Eisenhut, Charlie Ferguson, Richard Fluhr, Travis Hedemann, Loli Fernández-Andrade, Nicola Parente, Tra Slaughter and Wendy Wagner, will be on display for the public to enjoy throughout the summer at The Belle Meade at River Oaks, and Highland Village Shopping Center.
