Three Cups of Tea (and Lunch)
With Greg Mortenson
Greg Mortenson is an amazing person with an amazing story. During a mountain climb in Pakistan, Greg was injured and then aided by poor local villagers in a village he'd entered accidentally. He learned that none of the children who helped him had ever been to school due to many factors including poverty, ethnic conflicts and certain fundamentalist edicts. Mortenson has since dedicated his life to promoting education, especially for girls, in remote regions of Pakistan and Afghanistan. Greg's best selling books, Three Cups of Tea and Stones Into Schools, and the Central Asia Institute he founded to build schools for children in these countries, are the result of his passion and dedication.
Three Cups of Tea with Greg Mortenson is a Houston luncheon organized to raise awareness and funds to promote the Central Asia Institute. Those present at this event will have the pleasure if hearing Greg, also a Nobel Peace Prize nominee, discuss his story and mission:
