The gift drive will begin on Tuesday, December 8, with a holiday cocktail event, trunk show, and personal appearance by the Houston-based designer. Shoppers will delight in appetizers, and sip on wine, as they browse the intricate collection of Hila's stones, pearls, and personalized charms; as well as make the holidays special for children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer and blood disorders.

Highland Village Farmers Market

Start your next Saturday morning with a piping hot cup of organic coffee and and a
freshly baked pastry as you stroll through the Highland Village Farmers Market.

Between 8am and Noon, the HVFM hosts 24 vendors who all use organic or sustainable methods of growing. A permanent covered structure, next to Jos. A Banks and across the street from Escalante’s Mexican Restaurant, houses the vendors free range meats and eggs, and a plethora of produce and goat milk products.

You can purchase items for yourself, or put fruits and veggies together in a gift

Buy One Pair, Give One Pair

In 2006 an American traveler, Blake Mycoskie, befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. In less than a year, 10,000 pairs of shoes were given to children in need in Argentina! In 2009, TOMS plans to give 300,000 pairs of shoes to children in need around the world.

Arch and heel support and cushioned leather insoles make your feet (as well as your heart) feel great. There are as many different colors available as you can imagine. TOMS shoes are available at Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom (in store and on line) and at www.tomsshoes.com.

Prices start around $45.
