Vintage 46 Wine Bar

Next door to the gallery is a warm, welcoming wine bar that has an extensive collection of wine and beer. The owners, both with the first name Tom, opened the bar in early summer, blessing it with its unique moniker because one of the Toms was born in '46 and considers himself, like the wines he offers, "vintage". Speaking of Vintage, Sinatra-esque music is provided on Friday and Saturday nights.

Small plate offerings of meat and cheese, salads, and pizzas are served along with the wine.

Check out the outdoor seating area, perfect for Fall evenings.

Night owls will appreciate the late hours this wine bar keeps. Drop by for an after event or after theatre aperitif.
The Gallery 46 and Vintage 46 partner on events, including the Gallery 46 Expression connection. A great way to spend an evening of wine and art!

Coldpiece Candles -- BRILLiant Home

The Coldpiece Pottery Candle is one of our favorites for so many reasons. Of course, the fragrance (lavender or tuberose) is sublime and the terra cotta pot is welcome in both traditional and modern decors, but it also warms our heart because once the candle has burned, you can order just the refill or use the handmade terracotta pot for flowers. Choose small (one wick), medium (three wicks), or large (five wicks) in both the candle or the refill.

These candles fill the shelves of the finest gift shops in town and we have found a new small business offering the handsome candles at reduced prices.  We won't name names, but a very high end gift shop in town prices the candle pictured above at $68 (refills at $38).  Our new source, BRILLiant Home, sells the identical candle for $50 (refills at $25).  There is nothing more hip or haute than a good deal!  Contact Sara Brill with BRILLiant Home for more selections and pricing.

The Methodist Hospital’s
Leading Hearts Gala

We wouldn't want you to miss an evening with two political icons who helped bring down communism. Lech Walesa, former President of Poland and Nobel Laureate, and former U.S. Congressman Charlie Wilson will be interviewed by Larry King discussing their battles with the former Soviet Union and their own heart disease.

Former President George H.W. Bush and former First Lady Barbara Bush will serve as honorary chairs. The gala will benefit the Methodist DeBakey Heart & Vascular Center in Houston, where both men were treated for heart disease.
