What better way to help H-town's firefighters than by attending a party? The Houston Fire Museum Gala, RESCUE ME, will be Friday, September 25, 2009, at La Colombe D'Or Mansion. They will be honoring fallen heroes Captain James Harlow and Firefighter Damion Hobbs as well as the 2009 Community Hero Awards recipients Troy Blakeney and Brady Carruth.





Gala Chairman Barbara Van Postman and Cheryl Byington have planned a
silent auction, dinner and dancing to the music of Password.

Toot Toot Tootsies- For Toot Good Causes

Wednesday, September 23rd
Tootsies is opening their doors for two charity events.






Denise Hazen, author of Treat Her Like a Princess: How to Help Your Girlfriend with Breast Cancer, and Cheeky Vintage co-owner, will sign her book, while guests will enjoy mimosas, kolaches, and best of all, shopping. Anthony Lucci, M.D., Associate Professor, Department of Surgical Oncology at The University of Teas M.D. Anderson cancer center will make a brief presentation on Micrometastases in breast cancer. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Dr. Lucci’s research.

The 2009 Trees of Hope Gala Chairs, Kelly Lubanko and Mary Rothwell, will host
a kick-off party for this year’s Star Light, Star Bright Gala. Guests will enjoy
cocktails, couture, and meet featured philanthropic jewelry designer Joan Horning.
A percent of the evening's proceeds will benefit Star of Hope Mission.
