Fashion X Houston, presented by Cadillac, premiered last Thursday night at Silver Street Studios. The fashion forward guests clinked drinks and perused The Gallery as they made their way to their seats. Models strutted down the runway clad in looks from Miles David, Jimmy Burner, SixChel: Sexy Chic Cool Chick, This is Sloane, Rask, Carlos Castillo, Shehla Rana, Daniel Esquivel, Sean Kelly, Mysterious by NPN, and a special collection curated from “Style Setter” Caroline Knapp’s closet. Knapp was honored not only for her influential style, but also for her untiring devotion to non-profit organizations. A portion of all “Style Setter” tickets will be donated to Heroes for Children.

The finale night included runway shows from Chloe Dao, Alantude, Bentley & Lace, Deanna Santiago, VICREN, MANA, Michelle Lesniak, Caycee Black, Korto Momolu, Sonjia Williams, Inclan, and a special collection curated from Lucinda Loya’s closet. Loya was honored not only for her influential style, but also for her untiring devotion to non-profit organizations. A portion of all “Style Setter” tickets for Saturday night will be donated to Children’s Assessment Center (CAC).
SBEF celebrates successful style
show Style Show brings in $55,350 for SBISD projects

Spring Branch Education Foundation’s sixth annual style show and luncheon broke records in the number of attendees and the money it raised for education-enhancing programs for Spring Branch ISD students. More than 650 trendsetters gathered at the Royal Sonesta Houston on Sept. 30 to raise more than $55,350, thanks to the efforts of co-chairs Michelle Majewski and Suzanne Stiles and their energetic committee. Volunteer models hit the runway in fashions by Monkees of Houston and Elaine Turner. New this year, men joined the women on the runway.

Given an opportunity to donate to the Foundation’s Making Our Schools Better campaign, guests contributed $6,450. Before and after the style show, they shopped at the event’s seven pop-up shops where 10 percent of the sales were donated to SBEF.
BAYOU PRESERVATION ASSOCIATION HOSTED
50th ANNIVERSARY GALA “BLUES ON THE BAYOU”

More than 350 bayou lovers got lost in the old school melodies and the rhythmic feel of the deep south at Bayou Preservation Association’s 50th Anniversary Gala, Blues on the Bayou. The celebratory event was held at the stunning Buffalo Bayou frontage home of Colleen Holthouse on Wednesday, October 5th at 6:30PM. Upon entering the estate, guests were serenaded by blues musician Andrew Karnakas. Throughout the evening, live music was performed by one of Houston's most notorious bands, KAOS while servers dressed as Blues Brothers passed a Memphis mule signature cocktail.

In keeping with the theme, guests enjoyed buffet stations featuring Gulf Coast, Memphis blues and Cajun style cuisine. Colleen Holthouse and Scotty Arnoldy thanked event goers for attending and gave them a brief history on the Bayou-side estate. The 50th Anniversary event Chaired by Lindley Arnoldy and Brittany Cassin raised more than $175K.
