Menu of Menus
Houston Press held their 13th annual Menu of Menus event from 7 to 10 pm on Tuesday, March 31 at Silver Street Station. This event allowed guests to experience samplings from many of Houston’s delicious eateries along with some adult beverage samples. Guests entered the venue and were given a commemorative stem-less wine glass along with a box to help them dine while standing up and moving about. They then could begin to sample from restaurants like Radio Milano located in CityCentre who served veal cheeks on a bed of risotto. Another restaurant that served a tasty dish that everyone seemed to be enjoying was Ragú and Pesto. Their cheese tortellini was cooked to perfection and then tossed in a creamy sauce. Some well-known dining establishments like Freebirds and Los Cucos provided samples of their flavorful dishes. Freebirds had a sampling of a chicken burrito, and Los Cucos offered a chicken and cheese quesadilla in a blue corn tortilla. Just a few of the other restaurants present included Maine-ly Sandwiches, The Tasting Room, Fadi’s, Hula Mamas, Akasaka, Number 13 and Coco’s Crepes. To wash down all of these nibbles, there were a variety of alcoholic beverages to choose from. Wine of all kinds was available for sampling including whites, reds, pink and bubbly. For those who are not a fan of wine, there were also margaritas provided by El Big Bad and some beer options. After all of these samplings from some of Houston’s restaurants, guests needed to remember to save room for the sweet stuff. There were a couple of ice cream places that provided refreshing ice cream including Fat Cat Creamery and HoneyChild’s Sweet Creams. A unique dessert option that was phenomenal were the alcoholic bundt cakes that were created by Bundt Cake-A-Holic. They put real liquor in their cakes to turn a classic treat into an adults-only delicacy and have a variety of flavors including Bailey’s Bundt, Strawberry Hurricane Bundt, Kahlua Mudslide Bundt and a Southern Bundt. This fun evening that gave guests just a taste of all of the delicious food Houston has to offer benefitted the organization Kids’ Meals. The 13th annual Menu of Menus was a huge success, and people are already eagerly anticipating next year’s 14th annual celebration.
