FashionHouston 2013

The opening night of Fashion Houston 2013 took place on Tuesday, November 12 at the Wortham Center. This was Fashion Houston’s fourth year, and the theme was “International Style. Texas Hospitality.” This theme fit opening night perfectly as designers from around the world such as Marios Schwab and Catherine Deane displayed their amazing collections, but the lineup also included Houston locals. Marios Schwab’s collection played with light and dark in an elegant and stunning way. Catherine Deane’s clothing contained beautiful detail, especially one gown that had a sparkling jeweled back. After intermission, Jonathan Luke performed some upbeat numbers for the crowd. Following Luke’s tunes, an Episcopal High School 17-year-old student Amir Taghi showed his collection called Amir Taghi Atelier. His pieces were stunning and extremely impressive. All his models wore feather eyelashes, which created an incredible dramatic effect. The two other local designers were from Houston Community College. The first was Vin Fashion, which had bold accents including giant roses and bows. The final Houston designer was Jo’Se whose collection included a dress with a beaded corset. The final incredible designer of the evening was Talbot Runhof. Fashion Houston 2013 definitely outdid themselves in this opening night performance and lineup.
