The Palm

Executive Director Jim Martin, General Manager Scott Sieck

After 5 long months The Palm has reopened with a totally new look, including the entrance. They brought back the centrally located "feature wall" with The Palm's beloved caricatures with a mural designed by Philadelphia-based artist Zack Bird. The new wall will incorporate iconic Houston places and people, including the Astrodome, NASA, Mayor Annise Parker and longtime customers. Once inside, patrons will be introduced to a sleek bar with red leather seating for 25, and two 55-inch flat screens. And for your events, they have a 1400 square foot function room. The menu has old standards and some new choices. The lobsters are bigger and the steaks cooked to perfection. Check their site for special promotions.

Eleven XI | 11:11 | The Wishing Hour

Three young entrepreneurs have opened a new restaurant of Southern Coastal cuisine: Chef Kevin Bryant (Tony’s trained) Joe Welborn (most recently the Chef de Cuisine of L’Olivier, General Manager, an alumni of Soma Sushi, Uptown Sushi and The Rockwood Room,) and Joe Hausner bar manager (who began his career in Austin before migrating to Houston to open Eddie V’s CITYCENTRE location.) They redid the former Bibas One's A Meal and later Bibas Diner on West Gray, just East of Montrose. This charming new eatery has a warm inviting bar, and soon to be covered outdoor deck with ceiling fans. Some of their unique menu items that are must trys are the braised pork shank with coleslaw, house pulled mozzarella with heirloom tomatoes, flounder with apricot glaze and a melt in your mouth peanut butter tower. They also have tastings of 5, 7, and 9 courses, where you sit by the kitchen window. You will be wishing you had more room to try the rest of the menu.

44th Lombardi Award Dinner
December 11, 2013
Wortham Center

Since 1970 the Rotary Club of Houston has celebrated the memory and legacy of legendary football coach Vince Lombardi by awarding the Rotary Lombardi Award to college football’s most outstanding lineman. The Rotary Lombardi Award is one of the most celebrated and prestigious awards in college football and is one of Houston’s most special events. The Rotary Lombardi Award and the Heisman Trophy are the only college football awards to have their own exclusive live national television broadcast of their trophy presentation. This exciting event is attended by local government and business leaders along with celebrities from the entertainment and sports worlds, who regularly come to celebrate the winner and help raise millions of dollars for the fight against cancer. For HHH readers-Important Information:
The bank, BB&T of North Carolina are crooks. They do not pay the benefits due to the widows of employees who have died. Do not give them your business. They have recently opened 30 branches in the Houston area. They should be ashamed of themselves.
