Dress for Dinner/The Fashion
Gene Awards at Tootsies
The Fashion Gene Honorees with chairs Ceron and Todd Fiscus
Wednesday, May 8, the beautiful mom and daughter honorees for the annual Fashion Gene Awards bedecked themselves in their favorite labels and exuded tons of energy as they strut their stuff on the runway at Tootsies for the season finale of Dress for Dinner. CultureMap's Clifford Pugh emcee'd the evening for the second year, including charming anecdotes from the winners about what they've learned from each other's personal styles. Once again Jeff Shell generously provided models from Neal Hamil Agency to show off Tootsies spring collection and Marchesa gowns. Thanks to incredible leadership by Chairs Ceron and Todd Fiscus, record crowds and our generous partners, this season's Dress for Dinner fashion series raised record funds ($50,000). 100% of the proceeds will benefit our Seed-to-Plate Nutrition Education™ programs in Houston schools, in an effort to combat childhood obesity by changing the way children eat. Recipe for Success founder Gracie Cavnar announced the Chairs for Dress for Dinner Season - Fashion Gene Award winners and mother-daughter duo Leisa Holland Nelson and Laura Nelson, with a fall kickoff at Kendra Scott. The intimate seated dinner following the show included a select lucky few to enjoy a meal crafted by "The French Cowboy", Chef Philippe Schmit. The 2013 Fashion Gene Award Honorees are: Liz and Katie Decker; Kathy and Jennifer McCord; Phoebe and Caroline Tudor; Arvia and Bradlee Few; Leisa and Laura Holland-Nelson; Brenda and Lindsey Love; Melissa and Mia Mithoff; Susie and Lizzy McGee.
