Pearls, a classic, are new again as one of the “it” items to have for Spring 2013. Nashville native and jewelry designer Vincent Peach creates pearl jewelry with organic materials from all over the world. His family was in the pearl distributing business, so it was a natural transition for him to create unique pearl jewelry, unlike the traditional strands or studs.
Pave In a Pod Bracelet, Diamond Collection
Over the last few years he has incorporated organic materials, (leathers and metals,) adding diamonds and other stones with his pearls. His creations can be worn day or night. HHH suggests the leather styles would be great for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. You will also see some of his pieces on the television show, "Nashville". His line is sold exclusively at Tootsies.
Happy Birthday Damien’s!
Congratulations on 30 delicious years! A feat for any restaurant, Damian’s remains as popular today as it was in 1983 thanks to the watchful eyes and magnetic personalities of owners and cousins Bubba Butera and Frankie B. Mandola. This is old school in the most welcoming and engaging way. With daily operations led by the ever-ebullient Bubba Butera, who is one the cities more captivating hosts and a primo storyteller, alongside Frankie’s son Johnny B. Mandola, who joined the restaurant after working for several high-profile steakhouses, Damian’s has deservedly built a large and loyal following – a who’s who of the city with standing reservations and longtime dibs on their favorite seating spots, including the charming and secluded chef’s table tucked away in the kitchen. And they ask for their favorite server, some of whom have worked there since the beginning. “We are very proud to be celebrating 30 years in business,” said Johnny Mandola. “It’s a true testament to our guests and to the many employees who have contributed to our success over the years. We’ve worked very hard to maintain the quality of our food and the overall dining experience and effectively created a unique niche by not messing with the formula.” What has changed in preparation for the anniversary is a recent refresh of the restaurant’s exterior with fresh paint, new awnings and landscaping; an upcoming addition of an elevator for improved access to the second floor meeting and event space, which features WiFi and can accommodate up to 150 guests; plus wrapping of the restaurant’s motor coaches, which provide complimentary shuttle service to select Theater District performances, in a new skin that incorporates a specially designed 30th anniversary logo.
