Elaine Turner Pink Door Event
The stormy and rainy night of Tuesday, October 16th was brightened up by the Elaine Turner event at CityCentre to benefit Pink Door. Pink Door is a nonprofit organization, which helps women to begin a new life after cancer. At Elaine Turner on the evening of the 16th, a percentage of the proceeds from items purchased during the event will be used to help breast cancer survivors attend the Pink Door 5th Anniversary Gala. The event was a delightful intimate gathering where guests tried on some of Elaine Turner’s fabulous shoes and accessories. As they shopped, the guests sipped on champagne and noshed on chocolate covered almonds, chips and dip, and some beautiful miniature cupcakes. Even if you missed this event of Elaine Turner’s, you should still try to stop by and purchase one of her pink bracelets. 100 % of proceeds from these stylish wrap-around bracelets will be donated to benefit breast cancer research. Despite the weather outside, this event was cheerful and a fun evening!

On September 27 and 28, 2012, at the Westin Galleria Hotel, The Immunization Partnership (TIP) hosted The Texas Immunization Summit 2012, to discuss “The State of Immunizations in Texas.” Over 300 stakeholders from across Texas, including physicians, nurses, public health officials, policy makers, and legislators learned how to promote immunizations and continue work towards raising immunization rates in the state. TIP also released a new publication “A Dose of Reality: Texans Stand Up for Immunizations.” On the evening of September 27, TIP hosted its Fall Fete for nearly 200 Summit attendees. Seth Mnookin, New York Times bestselling author and author of The Panic Virus: A True Story of Medicine, Science and Fear, shared his research and entertained guests with his views on the anti-vaccine movement. The Fall Fete, chaired by Jacquelyn and Collin Cox, was an exclusive “Big Shot” fundraiser. Members of the Big Shot Society provide critical support of TIP’s programs which promote higher immunization rates throughout the state of Texas.
