Old School, New Looks
Remember this name, Norman Ambrose, fashion designer. Recently at Neiman’s , to show his Spring 2013 collection, Norman Ambrose creates collections the haute couture way. From the age of 12, when he began sketching clothes, he has been dedicated to the refinement of his craft and execution of detail.
He has worked under two fashion designer icons, Balenciaga and Bill Blass, and started his own collection a few years ago. He believes in the perfection of fit for each client. When you attend his trunk shows you may say, I love this dress, but would like the neckline a bit different. He works with each client to ensure his creation is a joy to the customer. Check out his Spring collection at Neimans, it is an homage to the it girls of the 1960's.

Bayou Preservation Association enthusiasts broke out their hula skirts and coconut tops
for the annual Lei’d on the Bayou fundraising event on Thursday, October 4. Upon
arrival at the home of Clayton and Shel Erikson, hula dancers embellished guests with
vibrant floral lei’s. Cabana huts setup around the home offered Mai Tais, a signature
Hawaiian cocktail. The lavish luau, provided by A Fare Extraordinaire, included tropical
inspired hors d’oeuvres such as coconut fried shrimp, pulled pork on tostadas, shrimp
ceviche cocktail with banana chips. Throughout the night guests were entertained by
hula girls dancing to the beats of Herb Remington on the Steel Guitar. Once the sun was
set, guests utilized their miniature Bayou Preservation Association branded flashlights as they strolled along the tiki torch lit bayou. Funds raised through the gala provide the Bayou Preservation Association with the resources it needs to protect Harris County’s most valuable natural resources, the 2,500 miles of bayous and streams that run through the Houston-Galveston area.
