If you’ve ever visited New York City, you’re sure to have stopped in to famed Fifth Avenue retailer, Henri Bendel. Well, your commute just got a little shorter! Stylish girls of Houston will only have to go as far as the Galleria, as Henri Bendel has now opened its doors in the Bayou City. Since 1895, Henri Bendel has been the quintessential girl’s playground. Long before “branding” was a buzzword, Henri Bendel became the first retailer to brand himself, registering his trademark in 1895 and creating the now iconic brown and white stripe shopping bag and hatbox in 1907. The Houston store reflects the company’s rich history and innovative spirit by offering a plethora of leather goods, jewelry and gifts. Bendel President, Chris Fiore, was on hand for the opening day festivities and expressed his delight at the brand’s recent expansion. “Henri Bendel is a NY icon and over the last few years we’ve developed our own label and our own products that resonate well with women all across America and all across the world,” stated Mr. Fiore. The company began by offering an assortment of designer products and in recent years brought on a team of in-house designers who took the power and excitement of the brand to new heights. Henri Bendel has always had a keen eye for the new and the next and its influence on the shape of American fashion continues. Mr. Fiore added that the company has a newly designed website, a line of sunglasses that will launch in September and a new assortment of specialty foods on the horizon. From the custom-made chandelier that welcomes guests upon entering the boutique, to the vast array of hip gift offerings, the Houston Henri Bendel store is sure to be a chic shopping destination for Houston’s stylish Southern girls.

If you’re looking to find a one-of-a-kind piece of clothing or jewelry, then you should stop by The Boutique., owned by Lauren Carmon, who designs many of the items sold and displayed in the store. Two other members of The Boutique team include Lauren’s sister, Sakhara and another designer named Adonai. Adonai designs the men’s clothing, which he hopes will show men how to play with color and add some style to their wardrobes. One of the best parts about shopping at The Boutique is that since every piece is custom designed, you will not be caught wearing the same outfit as someone else. Lauren takes vintage items and revamps them into more modern fashion creations ranging from ball gowns to jean shorts and bodysuits. In addition to clothing, The Boutique also offers a number of jewelry items ranging from charm bracelets and necklaces to large dangling charm earrings. Another unique aspect of The Boutique is that they have a children’s line that is actually created by a ten-year-old designer. The children’s clothing includes colorful and fun tutus. The Boutique will not only help you find or create an outfit that works for your body type, but it will also be chic and affordable.
