There’s a new moo in town--the large cow on top of the hamburger haven-Jerry Built. This is not your typical burger joint. Each burger is made to your specifics with fresh ingredients — organic when possible, local when available and always fresh. They source seasonal ingredients from local and regional farmers during each harvest. Their kitchens have glass walls, and you can watch your creation being made. Their goal is in the pursuit of delighting guests with an all-American meal of burgers and fries. They have two locations in the area--Holcombe and The Woodlands. The restaurant is light and airy with lots of windows to look out, while you enjoy your meal.

Crossroads School celebrated another year of educating exceptional children with its annual gala, “A Golden Evening.” at The Houstonian Hotel and Spa, and yes, it was truly golden with this year’s gala raising $90,000. With less state and federal funding, and the rising costs of educational tools and resources, event proceeds will allow Crossroads to continue its mission of educating children with learning differences. Gila Arnoni, Ph.D., Director of Crossroads School, personally welcomed and thanked each one for supporting the school. Emmy-award winning investigative reporter Amy Davis of KPRC 2 News served as emcee. Auctioneer extraordinaire Shorty Yeaman handled Crossroads’ signature Live Dessert Auction. Board member Mickey Marvins and her husband Michael bid $1400 and won a delicious Chocolate Zuccotto Cake donated by Maggiano’s Little Italy. The Silent Auction featured Sports Fan, Theatre, and Golf Enthusiast – Texas Tour Packages. Greg and Petra Tabor not only won the Golf Enthusiast package worth over $2000, but also won the HUGE 'Shaken, not Stirred' stock the bar package Crossroads “outside-the-box” teaching philosophy includes a multi-level individualized curriculum, nurturing environment, and a student/teacher ratio of eight or fewer students per teacher. The result, K-10th graders can achieve their full academic potential and transition into a traditional private or public school.
