Kathy Bracewell’s Spring collection is out and available at Tootsies. Her semi-precious agates, found on her West Texas ranch near Marfa, Texas, are polished and cut then she adds one-of-a-kind embellishments, like vintage Milagros, rosary seed beads, lava drops, mother-of-pearl and turquoise beads to create exclusive necklaces and bracelets. In celebration of spring and the Houston rodeo, Bracewell has also incorporated feathers into several of her spring pieces. Emerging fashion designer Lyn Devon, was in town at Tootsies, to display her Spring/Summer2012 collection, and offer a sneak peek of her Fall/Winter 2012 collection. Lyn Devon debuted her self-titled collection in 2005, and has since garnered much attention for her modernized and impeccably tailored rendition of iconic American design. Her Fall 2012 collection was inspired by the romance of New York City in the 1950s. A time when women dressed up just to go for a stroll or to the movies with their beau. A time when clothing was always polished and outfits perfectly coordinated. Textures are soft and cozy from mohair coats and angora knits to supple cashmeres and jerseys, colors are soft and romantic from lilac to rose and prints have a feminine 50s kitsch flair from love birds to roses. Dresses are form fitting and designed to seduce, while coats and knits are voluminous with a 50s swing flair. Lynn said she loves how Houston women embrace color, and how they are always well dressed.
