Intero West Ave overflowed with guests for their grand opening of the first Houston office. Guests sipped wine and Tequila from Reserva de los Gonzalez and lite bites from Ava Kitchen & Whiskey Bar. The Intero Foundation continued its philanthropy to children’s charities with this event benefiting ArtBridge, with a raffle of artwork created by the children of Artbridge. 100% of the proceeds will support children coping with the despair of homelessness through creative expression.

The Inman Gallery played host to the Gulf Restoration Network (GRN) and “Unnatural Histories, Unnatural Waters,” a look at invasive species that have radically changed the eco-systems of the Gulf of Mexico. Artist Kristin Musnug, who has explored the topic in her paintings, spoke to the crowd of her love of painting scenes that were “on the way to somewhere beautiful.” GRN Executive Director Cyn Sarthou shared about the work that GRN is doing in collaboration with other organizations as far north as Minnesota to restore the waters and vegetation of the Gulf of Mexico back to their natural states.

The evening was sponsored by the David Peck Collection, who underwrote the event in addition to providing a scarf from their CrOp by David Peck line for raffle. Monica Pope provided light bites from her restaurant T’afia. Guests included gallery owner Kerry Inman, Gallery Director Patrick Reynolds, GRN Board Members Allen McReynolds and Martina Cartwright, GRN Development Director Eir Danielson, designer David Peck, Jose Diaz, Jennifer Hurn, Jennifer Kolker, and Hollen Slaughter. David Peck will be partnering with GRN for both his Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 collections. They will receive 10% of his profits to help promote a happier and healthier Gulf.
