The Jung Center 25th Annual Benefit Dinner

The Jung Center’s Center for Houston’s Future was honored for their commitment to developing civic leaders in the Houston Region, resulting in dozens of life-changing community projects. Honorees were Susan and Gene Vaughan with Doris Kearns Goodwin, historian and author, speaking on her new book about Abraham Lincoln, Team of Rivals, and about working with President Johnson in the White House, and on his memoirs.

Philippe Restaurant Hosts Party for Mission of Yahweh

Kick Off Party for the 2011 Mission Incredible Gala for the 50th Anniversary for Mission of Yahweh whose mission is to provide shelter to homeless women and children in crisis. Co-Chairs Lisa Ferchau and Monica Hartland were thrilled to welcome over 100 supporters to the fabulous new space at Philippe with the Western French flair, by chef Philippe Schmit.

Phoenicia Specialty Foods has added the winning baklava, Baklava Crunch, to its bakery and deli menu. And, you can feel good about purchasing this delicious newly created baklava for $2, since half of the proceeds benefit Houston’s Ronald McDonald House through May.

1st fundraiser for The Center for Success and Independence whose mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of youth ages 12 – 17, and their families, through intensive treatment designed to address emotional, educational, and addictive disorders. Chairs Karen and Kevin Henry, Sherri and Charles Gordon, and Paige and Morris Windham had Henry Winkler as the speaker. Honorees were Phoenicia Specialty Foods owners, Meredith and Raffi Tcholakian for their commitment to Houston's charitable causes.
