Hang Out in the Kitchen!

Carol Lapin, R.D. in her new office

Registered Dietitian Carol Lapin doesn’t think too many cooks in the kitchen spoil the broth. In fact, she encourages people to come into her kitchen, conveniently located within her new office for CSL Nutritional Services at 1065 Gessner in the Memorial City area. Clients get up close and personal with nutrition when they work with Carol; from grocery store shopping tours to food preparation to cooking that emphasizes healthy eating and proper nutrition. Her inviting office with its open floor plan, comfy furniture, and sparkling kitchen makes clients feel right at home.

Carol specializes in consulting for cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, cancer prevention, gastrointestinal issues, sports nutrition, proper body weight and adolescent nutrition, as well as giving wellness presentations. She provides the tools for permanent lifestyle changes that encompass eating for good health and fitness, based on the client’s individual needs. Go to the website to see Carol’s grocery shopping video tour for dietitians that’s also fun for consumers.

The Ronald McDonald House in Houston had it’s Girl’s Just Wanna Have Fun event last week, after being rescheduled due to the ice storms that hit H-town. The event was a sellout, and was a fun filled evening of shopping, dancing, massages, make-up and raffles!

Co Chairs, Debbie Adams and Julie Haralson

This Ronald McDonald House is an independent entity, and all the money they raise goes to the Houston house, which allows families with sick children stay in a home environment They have a total of 84 beds; 50 in the house for families from all over the world for long term stays, 20 at Texas Childrens Hospital, and 14 at Childrens Memorial Hermann for Houston families. The house is also home to Moagie, the labradoodle, who is hypo-allergenic, and a great companion for the children who are missing their pets.

Located on the edge of the Med Center, it is a haven for these families who are going back and forth to take their children for tests, doctor visits, or treatments.
