A Few Holiday Experiences
Merry and Bright

This hoilday season instead of dropping gifts at the doorsteps of friends, why
not take an hour (or two) and create a holiday memory.
And perhaps, start a holiday tradition! A few suggestions:

Kappa Kappa Gamma Holiday Pilgrimage

Every other year, Kappa Kappa Gamma Charitable
Foundation produces a holiday home tour. This year, four homes decorated for
the holidays by Houston's top floral designers are featured. Two homes in
River Oaks and two homes in Tanglewood.

Take the tour and leave with ideas for your own home; such as placing
Christmas stockings on the back of each dinning room table chair for Christmas dinner. The home tour will be held on December 5th and 6th from 10 am to 4 pm
and 1 pm to 5 pm on December 7th.

Tickets for the home tour are $20 in advance (available at Bering's and Rice Epicurean) and $25 at the door. For more information, call 713.662.2266.

Entertaining at The St. Regis

St. Regis Holiday Afternoon Tea

Tea Room

You will feel like royalty as the butler presents you with traditional afternoon tea, including freshly brewed loose leaf tea in individual pots, warm scones with Devonshire cream, finger sandwiches, and a delightful array of desserts. Add a glass of something bubbly if you are so inclined. All of this in one of the city's most beautifully decorated hotel lobbies. This is also a wonderful way to entertain small groups. Beginning Tuesday, November 24th through Wednesday, December 31st, holiday tea will be served daily at 11:00am and 3:00pm (excluding Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day). $35 per person (exclusive of tax, service charge and alcoholic beverages). Reservations are essential and should be secured well in advance.

Remington Bar Executive Class Celebrations

Plan a festive evening for the girls, or host an intimate Christmas party, to be held in the Remington Bar at the St. Regis. For $25 per person (exclusive of tax and service charge), the staff at the St. Regis will serve holiday cocktails (two drinks per person) and hors' dourves to your guests on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evening (other than Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Eve and New Year's Day) between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 pm. Gatherings are limited in size to groups of 5-20 guests. Holiday entertaining with all the fun and none of the work!

Yuletide at Bayou Bend

Statue

A visit to Bayou Bend, the home of the late philanthropist and collector, Ima Hogg, is for many Houstonians a favorite holiday tradition. This year's theme for the annual festivities is Celebrations! Eight rooms of the mansion will be decorated with historic re-creations of celebratory moments; including holidays and weddings, from the 18th to the 20th century. The festive lighting alone is enough to put you in the holiday spirit. Candlelight docent lead tours are available on Friday, November 28th, December 5th and December 12th. This includes cookies, cider and carolling. Candlelight tours begin at 5:00pm and the last tour departs at 7:00pm. The cost is $7.50 per person. Saturday afternoons in December feature ornament making for children (2:00pm to 5:00pm). The cost is $7.50 per person.

Yuletide festivities run from
Saturday, November 22, 2008, through Sunday, January 4, 2009.
